PENESEAL Keeps Goods Rolling in Bien Hoa

Vietnam

Logistics (shipping/trucking) centers are heavy-traffic, 24/7 operations that demand the extraordinarily durable structures that PENETRON technology provides. Small wonder that PENESEAL FH sealer was specified to harden the concrete floors of the new Solog shipping hub in Vietnam, providing a reliable and permanent solution.

Once a nation ravaged by decades of war, Vietnam’s economic boom over the past 25 years has turned it into one of Asia’s great success stories. Shifting from an agricultural to a manufacturing and services-based economy, the country joined the World Trade Organization in 2007 and massively increased trade with the United States.

Solog Corporation is a logistics company typical of the new Vietnam. Specializing in container shipping and with a logistics hub (147,000 m2 / 1,582,295 square feet) in Binh Duong province (near Ho Chi Minh City), Solog needed to add capacity to keep up with growth. Opened in April, the Bien Hoa hub (northeast of HCM) adds much-needed storage capacity to the company’s expanding shipping network.

PENESEAL FH sealer was used to treat 40,000 m2 (430,560 square feet) of floor space to harden the concrete and enable it to withstand industrial-level traffic. Once applied, PENESEAL FH penetrates into the concrete surface and reacts with the free lime and alkali to form a solid (and denser) mass. This locks the pores and capillaries, permanently sealing the concrete.

A thing of beauty: The finished floor at the Bien Hoa logistics center has a traffic-resistant, self-polishing floor surface. PENESEAL FH sealer can actually improve appearance with increased use.
