Balkhashskaya Thermal Power Station

Balkhash, Kazakhstan

Description

Originally built in the 1930s, the concrete structures of the Balkashskaya Power Station, a coal-fired facility, were in urgent need of repair and renovation. The leaks in the plant’s wastewater storage basin had flooded the facility’s basement; divers were used to evaluate the situation; PENETRON crystalline technology was chosen to treat the reservoir and the concrete structures in the basement.

Products Used

Using a combination of PENETRON crystalline repair material to seal the concrete surfaces and PENECRETE MORTAR to treat the cracks in the structures, both the wastewater reservoir and all the concrete walls and floors of the basement of the power station were treated.
