Cathedral of Saint George
Category: Tourist Attraction
Originally built in the 13th century, the Cathedral of Saint Gevorg was burned by the Persians at the end of the 18th century and lay in ruins until very recently. The restoration project to restore the Cathedral of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church was completed in three years.
The three-year reconstruction project paid special attention to the church foundation, which was damaged by underground water. Work was done to strengthen and waterproof the foundation and a drainage system was installed. PENETRON ADMIX was used for the concrete in the basement slab.
