Curicó (Maule), Chile
This US$300 million project is set for completion by 2020. The new Curicó Hospital facility will be the largest in the region with 109,152 m2 of space on 7 floors, 400 beds, 12 surgical pavilions, 5 delivery rooms, 52 medical consultation rooms, 8 emergency rooms and two underground parking levels for 800 automobiles.
The OHL construction company initially specified an asphalt membrane for waterproofing. However, PENETRON Chile showed the advantages of PENETRON crystalline technology and used examples of other domestic healthcare projects that benefited from PENETRON materials. Finally, the contractors chose PENETRON ADMIX to treat 8,730 m3 of concrete for the foundation structures including the slab foundation and the underground parking areas.
