Description
Golden Crop Field, a terminus station of the Novosibirsk Metro, began to experience numerous water leaks after its official opening in 2010. The subway station was closed for a month to eliminate the troublesome issue. In addition, the challenge of implementing an overall waterproofing solution needed to be addressed, as a second rail line is currently under construction and set to open in 2017.
Products Used
The local PENETRON team proposed a comprehensive application of the PENETRON System to provide an overall waterproofing solution. PENETRON topical crystalline materials were applied in the construction joints between the iron cast tunnel vaults and on the station platform walls. PENETRON ADMIX was specified to restore the concrete in the supporting columns and rail track beds to complete an impermeable and durable concrete structure.
