Inaugurated in April 2014, the museum has a permanent and interactive exhibition based on the culture of Brazil and promotes a great celebration of the life and work of the singer and composer Luiz Gonzaga, the King of Baião. The museum includes cutting-edge technology and contemporary approaches that made it a place of transformation of cultural routine found in the capital. The museum is a space that invites the public to stop, be, study, create, and experience the rich universe of stories, personalities, memories and artistic languages.

Built on the site of an old warehouse in the Port of Recife, the 7,500 m2 (80,730 square feet) museum has numerous interesting architectural details, including the apparent colored concrete. To increase the protection and shelf life of the museum's reinforced concrete, PENESEAL PRO, a liquid sealer based on modified silicates, was applied. The sealer does not form a film and does not alter the aesthetic appearance of the concrete. PENESEAL PRO forms a deep barrier of CSH gel in the concrete, reducing water penetration and aggressive agents. Protection against moisture is increased by more than 80% after application.
