Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant

Seabrook, NH, USA

Description

Seabrook is a 1,160 MW pressurized-water nuclear reactor that provides enough electricity for about 1,000,000 homes. Located two miles inland from the New Hampshire coast, the plant uses water that is carried from the ocean to the plant via two three-mile-long underground tunnels.

Products Used

PENETRON, PENECRETE MORTAR and PENEPLUG were used to repair and waterproof the plant’s underground tunnels, together with the plant foundations, underground facility structures and all protective spillways. In addition to resistance to water ingress and chemical penetration into the concrete, an additional benefit is a significant reduction in gamma radiation in case of an accident.
