Slavyanskaya Thermal Power Station
Nikolaivka, Donetsk, Ukraine
The Slavyanskaya hydro-electric power plant first came online in 1963 with a capacity of 800 MW. Due to decades of operation in close proximity to the water, the structure and equipment gradually deteriorated, resulting in power generation efficiency losses and deactivation of one of the facility’s units. A total renovation and upgrade of the facility replaced the power generating equipment with modern turbines to better meet EU environmental standards and the disabled unit was reactivated.
The concrete structures of the basement were repaired with a combination of PENETRON crystalline material for all concrete surfaces and PENECRETE MORTAR to repair cracks and eliminate all leaks.
