Description
A previously open reservoir was converted into a secure, 8-million gallon water holding tank for the town of Harrisonburg in the banks of the Shenandoah River in Virginia. Over 140 feet in diameter and 70 feet high, the new reservoir complies with recent infrastructure protection guidelines and also fit within the footprint of the existing reservoir, with room for future expansion.
Products Used
The reservoir walls included several layers of PENETRON ADMIX Enhanced Shotcrete (PAES) sandwiching a steel diaphragm wall and pre-stressing cables (core of the wall). The PAES provided all the necessary waterproofing and also protects the steel diaphragm structure.
