Description
Located in the center of Turin, an important business and cultural hub in northern Italy (Piedmont), the Piazza Carlina parking garage is located completely belowground and provides parking for 208 automobiles on three floors. Due to the depth of the excavation, considerable groundwater was encountered by the builder.
Products Used
Initially, a PENETRON ADMIX-treated shotcrete layer was sprayed on the excavation walls to provide a waterproof barrier. PENETRON ADMIX was then added to 3,000 m3 (3,930 cubic yards) of concrete used for the walls and floors of the underground garage to ensure a completely impermeable structure.
