Description
Itapemirim is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo, on the Atlantic Coast of southeastern Brazil. It was the third city in the country to have an electric public lighting system – thanks to the Light Island power plant, which was first commissioned in 1903. After 108 years, an urgent and comprehensive renovation of the plant was undertaken.
Products Used
PENETRON Brazil provided an optimal concrete treatment solution for the plant housing and water channel structures. A combination of SEAL COAT, PENECRETE MORTAR and PENETRON crystalline materials were all applied to the structures. The new power plant now generates 500 times more energy than the old plant, enough to supply a city of 40,000 inhabitants.
