Description
The South Urals Logistics Complex is the initial distribution point to the largest Russian cities to the west: Yekaterinburg, Perm, Ufa, and Chelyabinsk. An inspection of the facility’s water storage tanks (used for firefighting), and other below-grade structures revealed the urgent need for extensive repairs of the reinforced concrete structures.
Products Used
Working together with MedPromKhim, a construction company, the Tori Company specialists carried out the concrete repairs on the leaking below-grade concrete structures and the water storage tanks in the machinery room. The repair work began with the repair team routing out all visible cracks and leaks and cutting back any exposed rebar stubs and deteriorated concrete. PENECRETE MORTAR, a crystalline waterproofing repair mortar, was then applied to fill the prepared areas. In a final step to protect the reinforced concrete water tank from future water penetration, PENETRON, a topical crystalline material, was applied as a slurry to permanently waterproof the concrete matrix. Both PENECRETE MORTAR and PENETRON were also used in combination to repair damaged below-grade concrete structures, and for several smaller repairs around pipes, cable inlets, construction joints, and tie-holes.
