Description
Trona is a sodium carbonate compound that is processed into soda ash or bicarbonate of soda, or as it is more commonly known, baking soda. Wyoming has the world’s largest deposit of trona, supplying about 90% of the nation’s soda ash. This mineral is Wyoming’s top export and is shipped to markets around the globe. Wyoming mines produced over 17 million tons of trona last year.
Products Used
PENETRON ADMIX was supplied to Geneva Rock (Murray, Utah) for the Rock Springs mines in Wyoming. The Geneva Rock salesperson noted that the trona mines were having rapid deterioration issues with the concrete on the truck scales, as well as other concrete around the mines. They applied PENETRON ADMIX to extend the life of the concrete in this very caustic area. PENEBAR SW was also used to seal joints.
