Minsk Arena is a multi-use indoor arena and one of Europe’s largest sports and cultural facilities. It comprises an ice palace with seating for up to 15,000 people, a modern velodrome (with 2,000 spectators), a skating competition configuration and a multi-level parking garage. In 2014, the Minsk Arena hosted the 2014 IIHF World Championships.
One of the main problems was the numerous leaks along the arena’s long corridor leading from the locker rooms to the center arena. Both the 1-meter thick walls and the resin-covered floors were badly soaked with water. PENECRETE MORTAR was applied along the key wall-floor conjunction; the walls and the floor were then treated with a covering of PENETRON topical crystalline material.
